Walmart needed a mobile version of their website that could easily display everything desktop did, but on a much smaller screen.
Studies have shown that the average human index finger tip is about 1.6–2cm, or 45–57 pixels. We used this in our design to ensure accidental triggering of unintended actions were eliminated. We were able to cleanly and effectively lay out the mobile website in a way that accomplished cramming so much into a significantly smaller space without looking cramped.
Walmart Canada was ahead of the curve in seeing that E-commerce was on its way to M-commerce. They were given a clear advantage with a well-designed starting point to capitalize on the rapidly growing mobile marketplace.
